ABOUT THE FOUNDER

Founder Cathy Dietsch has been involved with the fine arts since infancy, both parents were teachers, (music, theatre, and art) and did much for their own communities and abroad. Cathy holds a BFA in Vocal performance, and has studied, taught, directed, and performed in musicals, operas, plays, commercials, short films, bands, and orchestras around the world. She is a country girl at heart, having spent her childhood in the Texas hill country, but her passions lead her to exciting places such as New York City, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Frankfurt, Vienna, Sydney Australia, and more. She was a member of MEAA Equity (Australian actor's equity) and is eligible to join AEA here in America. A teacher of the Kodaly method, she agrees with his philosophies about music education. As Zoltán Kodály once said about music education, it begins "Nine months before the birth of the child, nine months before the birth of the mother." In other words, to have a society that appreciates the arts, one must start early, very early, it is a generational goal. To learn more about her Kodaly connections, and her Dad, Mark A Williams; the founding father of OAKE and the International Kodaly Society, please visit musikalingua.com, the publishing and memorial arm of Joyful Noise Fine Arts.

Cathy is a passionate teacher, singer, actress, dancer, photographer, and percussionist. She continues voice studies with her veteran teacher Dorothy Stone (Voce Doro Productions), and believes artists should always continue to master their craft. She is a devout Christian and deeply loves her community and all people. She loves being on the worship team as a singer and on keys, as well as co-leading the youth band at her church. She resides in Old Katy with her husband and four children, whom she homeschools. Having had special needs as a child, she has a special place in her heart for children with disabilities and has hopes to some day open a non-profit fine arts school specifically geared for them.
